During the five-day period, Rwanda exported 9,352 tonnes of various agricultural and livestock products, generating approximately Rwf 13.7 billion in export revenues.
Tea emerged as the country’s top foreign exchange earner, with 1,027 tonnes exported, bringing in more than Rwf 4 billion.
Other diversified agricultural commodities also made a significant contribution to the country’s export earnings, with 6,954 tonnes generating over Rwf 5.9 billion.
Coffee continues to remain one of Rwanda’s key cash crops on the international market, with 194 tonnes exported and revenues exceeding Rwf 1.2 billion.
In the horticulture sector, 274 tonnes of vegetables generated more than Rwf 710 million, while 456 tonnes of fruits earned over Rwf 430 million.
Flower exports generated more than Rwf 112 million, while livestock products contributed over Rwf 1.2 billion in revenues.
These products were exported to various markets across Africa, Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, continuing to strengthen Rwanda’s foreign exchange reserves and support national economic growth.
According to NAEB, the agriculture and livestock sector remains a cornerstone of Rwanda’s economic development, particularly through improved productivity, value addition, and the expansion of international markets.
The promotion of Rwanda’s agricultural products on the global market is also enhancing the visibility of the “Made in Rwanda” brand, while enabling farmers and livestock producers to improve their livelihoods through increased income and market access.
