Green Party embarks on agricultural and livestock projects to harness chicken manure
Leaders of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda have spent the past two weeks touring various districts across all provinces of Rwanda.
This initiative focused on visiting party members involved in projects aimed at advancing entrepreneurship, agriculture, livestock farming, and event planning.
The projects are expected to yield significant results and improve the livelihoods of local communities.
One notable example includes poultry and pig farming projects, where chicken and pig manure will be utilized as organic fertilizer to boost agricultural productivity.
Districts like Kicukiro, Nyarugenge, and Gasabo have concentrated on tailoring and event services, while Nyamasheke, Karongi, Gatsibo, Rwamagana, Huye, Ruhango, Musanze, and Gicumbi have prioritized agricultural and livestock initiatives.
Hon. Dr. Frank Habineza stated that these projects align with the country’s development strategy (NST2), aiming to create new job opportunities, particularly for women and youth.
He added that the support provided would benefit party members and Rwandans at large, with all initiatives implemented in an environmentally sustainable manner, consistent with the party’s core values.
In the districts visited, some members have already started reaping benefits, demonstrating the transformative potential of these projects in uplifting local communities.
